Rubén Martínez
I’m Rubén Martínez, a Senior Art Director who’s been in the game for a while, with a passion for all things 3D and experimental tech. Right now, I’m at Shuttlerock Vietnam: the flagship studio of Shuttlerock global, where I’m one of the creative leads on countless projects for big names like BMW, Volkswagen, Nestlé, and P&G.
My advertising journey kicked off in San Francisco at a startup called Wikreate, where I picked up a few fancy advertising awards. After my first dip in the advertising waters, I joined Alma DDB as an Art Director, working on campaigns for brands like Clorox, McDonald’s, and Chevron, especially targeting the Hispanic market. When I graduated with my MFA in 3D Animation, I was planning on moving out of advertising but ended up becoming a 3D Specialist at Razorfish. That stage of my career was super fun and experimental, introducing me to interactive digital campaigns for big names like Intel, Sony, and PG&E.
A burning desire to explore the world led me to move to Vietnam, where I joined Phibious Saigon as Head of Art, leading creative campaigns and fun TVC shoots for well-known brands like Coca-Cola, Sprite, and Vespa-Piaggio. During my time in Vietnam, I also started a small marketing and branding agency called AstroPig, which spun off an even bigger project: the founding of Tê Tê Brewing Co. I wore the hats of Brand Manager and Creative Director there for over seven years before circling back to the ad agency world at Shuttlerock Vietnam.
I’m all about collaboration and innovation, believing that great ideas come from a mix of teamwork and thinking outside the box. So without taking any more of your time, I’d like to introduce you to my work. If you want to ask me about work, have any questions, or just want to say hello, don’t hesitate to reach out. Enjoy!
